Building-materials industry
Steam is an element widely used in the building materials industry. For instance, a large amount of steam is required for the production of moulded bricks. The basic materials like sand, lime, water, etc. are mixed and pressed together. Later on, the stones are transported to a pressure vessel (autoclave) which is then closed and steam is injected. The stones then continue to harden at a temperature of approximately 200 °C.
